Several Republican candidates and figures spoke at a rally in Adel Monday evening.

The event began with a “Trump Train Trifecta Parade” where participants were encouraged to decorate their cars in support of Republican candidates for the upcoming general election. The parade started at the Dallas County Fairgrounds and ended at the Dallas County Courthouse. Ambassador Terry Branstad and U.S. House Republican candidate David Young and other local Republican candidates spoke to a crowd on the south side of the Courthouse.

Ambassador Brandstad reflected on his time working with the current Presidential administration, “It was an honor to serve our country in a very difficult assignment in China. I want you to know that President (Donald) Trump did what no president before him had the guts to do, and that is to stand up to China. It was a hard and difficult battle, but we got the phase-one trade agreement and the Chinese are purchasing record amounts of corn, soybeans, pork, and beef. You can see what’s happened to the price in the last few months. That only happened because of the leadership of Donald Trump.”

These kinds of events have become popular throughout the area as there was a similar “Patriot Parade” in Perry Sunday. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd.
