Time is running out for Perry businesses to apply for the new Modernization and Protection Grant.
The Perry Chamber of Commerce, Perry Economic Development, and the City of Perry have developed the grant in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Awards of $1,500 to $7,500 will be awarded to Perry businesses for projects that will help sustain their future or anything that will help modernize their infrastructure. Perry Chamber of Commerce Director Lynsi Pasutti says the range for recipients is relatively wide to maximize the potential of the grant and can be retroactive to cover previous expenses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pasutti hopes as many businesses as possible will take advantage of this unique program, “There really aren’t that many business grants. Most times they’re geared towards non-profit entities. So this is really unique for an opportunity geared towards businesses to better their business and have it be so open-ended so they can make it fit for them. Really, we’re still trying to get the word out that this is an option for businesses to look back on some of the things that they’ve done over the last six months to make adjustments to their businesses.”
Applications are due October 31st. You can find the link to the new webpage here. Business owners interested in applying can reach out to the Chamber office at (515) 465-4601.
