COVID-19 cases in Perry and Adel remain steady as Dallas County is approaching the 3,200 case threshold.
According to the Dallas County Dashboard Thursday, the 50220 zip code, which includes Perry, has 32 active COVID-19 cases, six fewer than Monday. The 50003 zip code, which includes the Adel area, has four more active COVID-19 cases, increasing their total to 38. As a whole, Dallas County has 755 active cases, 3,194 total, and 42 deaths.
Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson tells Raccoon Valley Radio what this zipcode specific data means for city planning, “This is something we’ve been working towards for quite some time so we’re all really excited that the State finally issued this guidance for (Dallas) County Public Health to release these numbers. What this will enable is myself, the City Council, and the Mayor to do is truly make decisions based on actual data, not just assuming that every case reported in Dallas County is from Perry, which was the guidance that we had been working on for the past six months.”
