The Perry of Chamber of Commerce is bringing back a fall favorite event today in a socially distant manner.
Shops in downtown Perry will be open past regular business hours for the first Sip and Shop event this season. Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio that a lot of effort has been put into making this both a fun opportunity for folks to come shop past regular hours while providing a socially distant environment, “This year the tone is a little bit different, we’re still wanting to maintain social distancing and stay safe, but still reminding people that we have some great opportunities for shopping here in Perry. So that’s where we began, restarting that this year in July, kind of having a smaller version of that with just a handful of businesses and closing the street to kind of really have that extra space. I think people are used to wearing face masks now and making adjustments as they go so that they can still continue to do the things that they’re wanting to do, one of those being supporting local businesses.”
The event will look a lot like last fall’s Sip and Shop event, where local businesses’ are open past regular hours to provide an opportunity to come out during the evening hours and shop. Several merchants will also be offering complimentary beverages for participants. Masks and social distancing are strongly encouraged. The event will take place from 5-8 p.m. in downtown Perry. You can learn more about the event during Friday’s Perry Fareway Let’s Talk Dallas County program with Pasutti.
