Greene County fell in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference volleyball Thursday night at Nevada in straight sets. Scores were 15-25, 9-25, 20-25, as the Rams fell to 0-4 in the conference and 5-15 overall. The Cubs improved to 18-15.

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union revealed regional pairings in Classes 1A, 2A, and 3A, on Thursday. Greene County will host Southeast Valley (Gowrie), a team it lost to on Oct. 1 in Jefferson as part of the new gymnasium opening night triangular. The match takes place on Oct. 19 in the new Greene County HS gym at 7 p.m. in 3A Region 2. The winner moves on to the semifinals on Oct. 21 at Humboldt vs. either Humboldt or Algona. OABCIG (Ida Grove), Kuemper Catholic (Carroll), Bishop Heelan (Sioux City) and MOC-Floyd Valley (Orange City) are the others in the Region.

Paton-Churdan plays on Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. as well. The Rockets are in 1A Region 3 and face Ft. Dodge St. Edmond at the home of the Gaels. The winning team moves on to meet AGWSR (Ackley) or Colo-Nesco in Ackley on Oct. 21. Janesville, Clarksville, and Rockford are on that same side of the bracket.
