The first week of the high school football playoffs in Iowa starts this week, and the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs, who have held the #1 ranking in Class 3A since Week 2, have high hopes of reaching the UNIDome in November.

But, in order to get there, DC-G will need to win 4 games in this year’s playoff format.  The Iowa High School Athletic Association is allowing all teams to qualify for the playoffs this season, since the regular season had been shortened from nine games down to seven.

If the Mustangs do get to the UNIDome, they’ll have to do it without starting quarterback, Senior, Ty Walker who will miss the remainder of the season with an ACL tear.
