This week in Greene County varsity athletics has two cross-country meets, one night of volleyball, and the last regular season football game on the schedule.

Coach Jeff Lamoureux’s cross-country girls and boys go to Lake City’s golf course tomorrow for the South Central Calhoun Invitational. Thursday, the Rams travel to Des Moines for the Saydel coed meet. This week marks the second time the Rams have had two meets in a short period of time, but this is the first time two meets are within 48 hours.

Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s volleyball Rams play just once this week. They’ll travel to Nevada on Thursday in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference action. The Rams are looking for their first conference victory. They hosted their first tournament on Saturday, going 0-3 in matches and 1-6 in sets in the new high school gym.

Coach Caden Duncan’s football Rams are seeking a four game winning streak as the regular season comes to an end. Greene County is 4-2 overall and winners of its last three games as they head to Shenandoah Friday for a Class 2A District 9 contest. Friday’s game can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage at 6 p.m. and kickoff at 7 p.m.
