The Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community Ambassadors held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new business in Jefferson.

Companion Veterinary Clinic is located at 210 South Wilson Avenue and specializes in dogs and cats. Owner Dr. Christy Fields lives in Paton and talks about COVID-19 delaying when she wanted to have the business open this past June.

“Of course COVID and difficulty with the contractors getting materials to finish the remodel, and getting some of the veterinary equipment. A lot of the surgical and medical equipment was difficult to get because it was being used for the human side, which is completely understandable.”

A reminder that today is an open house from 8am-noon. Attendees can tour the three exam rooms, as well as the surgical area and radiology room. There will be free goodie bags for those who attend, while supplies last. Companion will be open Mondays and Fridays from 8am-5pm and Wednesdays from 2-7pm.
