Not much has changed in drought conditions in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.
According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, all of Greene and Guthrie counties, and the northwestern three-quarters of Dallas County are in a severe drought. The southeastern quarter of Dallas County is in a moderate drought.
According to the National Weather Service, this past week, Perry has seen the most rainfall of the three counties with 0.15-inches, Jefferson had 0.03-inches, and Guthrie Center didn’t have any measurable precipitation this past week. For September, Perry reported 3.19-inches, Guthrie Center had 3.05-inches and Jefferson had 2.99-inches of precipitation.
