A construction bid for the law enforcement center addition was not awarded by the Guthrie County Board of Supervisors at their meeting Tuesday.

The Board discussed bids received with project manager Sid Samuels and architect Mike Lewis of Shive-Hattery Architecture and Engineering, and received a proposal from representatives of Rochon Corporation of Iowa who submitted a letter with their bid, which didn’t match the bid specifications that the other bidders followed. For all of the bids received, Supervisor Mike Dickson commented that the amounts were not what they expected, exceeding the $8.7 million bond referendum that was passed by voters in March. Samuels recommended gathering more information from the bidders in the coming week for the Supervisors to potentially award a bid next week.
