A Bayard man who was recently sentenced to serve five years in prison for drug and firearm offenses was arrested last week for a new charge.

According to the criminal complaint on September 19th the Adair County Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant for the residence of 35-year-old William Ray Bonar for property stolen in an Adair County case, some of which Bonar had listed for sale on Facebook. The search warrant was executed, and a tool box with tools, gas-powered air compressor, vehicle rotors, and a two-way radio were seized. Total value of the property was $2,400. Bonar was interviewed and admitted to buying the items knowing they were stolen. Bonar was arrested and charged with second degree theft, a class D felony. He’s being held on a $5,000 cash or surety bond at the Guthrie County Jail. On September 1st, Bonar was convicted in Guthrie County of two charges of felon in possession of a weapon and two counts of possession of a controlled substance third or subsequent offense, all class D felonies.
