From now on, when the Greene County Rams practice football, they will have extra helmet protection. Head coach Caden Duncan explains. “We got some Guardian Caps. The Booster Club (GCABC) was gracious enough to pay for half of those. We got one for every single player on the team. They reduce the risk of concussion by a third. You see a lot of colleges have those, and some bigger high schools. When we saw that it might be a possibility, we went for it, and we’re really happy we got them. The kids love them!” Activities Director Todd Gordon said the caps are placed over the helmet for every practice, but not for games. Fans worried about the traditional white Ram horns on the black helmet being covered up can breathe a sigh of relief when it comes to game day.

Greene County is 2-2 overall and 0-1 in Class 2A District 9 while RO is 0-2 in district play, 0-4 overall, and they’ve lost 16 straight games going back to the 2018 season.

This is Red Oak’s Homecoming game and it can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage starting at 6 p.m. and kickoff at 7 p.m.
