The Perry football team has yet to find the endzone after three games and will look to get a power running game established this Friday night when the 0-3 Bluejays travel to Norwalk for a 7:00 varsity game. The Bluejays are coming off one of their toughest losses in program history after giving up 32 points in the first quarter in Friday night’s 48-0 loss to top ranked Dallas Center Grimes. The overpowering Mustangs scored touchdowns on their first two offensive touches plus added a 72 yard kickoff return while forcing 3 Perry safeties. The Bluejays finished the first half with minus 46 yards of offense. Dallas Center Grimes showed incredible sportsmanship and pulled their starters early in the game and ran inside the tackles the entire second half. The game was shortened as well down to 10 minute quarters with continuous clock. Perry lost backup quarterback Jeremiah Boyer midway through the first quarter and turned to wide receiver, turn tailback (due to injuries to starters Abe Ruiz and Jose Flores) turn quarterback Caden Widen. Former slot receiver Juan Hernandez was forced to move to running back.
Perry will travel to Norwalk Friday night.
