The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office opened the doors to their new Law Enforcement Center to give the public a first-hand look at the new building.
The $23 million facility was completed earlier this summer, and this was the first time the public was invited for tours. The Dallas County Supervisors were in attendance to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony as this project has sat near the top of their priority list for the better part of the last decade. Supervisor Kim Chapman tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he’s excited to provide a safer environment for the Sheriff’s Office, “Well, this is a great occasion. We’ve always strived to keep our law enforcement safe in Dallas County. The facility they were in was not considered a safe facility any longer, and this facility will provide safety, not only to the jailers but those who work in the administrative division, and other departments as well.”
The new building on Highway 6 between Adel and Waukee is the new home to the DCSO administration and civil divisions and will have the new County jail up and running by the end of the month.
