Week 3 of high school football in Iowa concludes with another big win for the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs on their home turf over an under-manned, rebuilding Perry Bluejays program on Friday night by the score of 48-0.
Scott Heitland’s club was dominant from the start, as a Senior lead offense blasted the young and inexperienced defensive line of Perry.
DC-G was able to get much of the roster some Varsity experience in the rout of the neighboring Dallas County school.
DC-G is ranked #1 in Class 3A in Iowa and has been impressive in all three wins so far this season, including Pella in Week 1, last Friday at North Polk, and this Friday versus Perry.
Get Coach Heitland’s reaction to the Perry win and a talk about who the Mustangs potentially could play next week during the Dallas County PM Sports Page on KDLS Monday night at 6:00pm. DC-G was scheduled to play Des Moines Hoover, but now the Huskies are ineligible to play due to the discrepancy between Des Moines Public Schools, the Iowa High School Athletic Association and the Governor’s office.
