Two people were arrested for forgery after an incident in Adair last week.

Court documents show that at about 5 p.m. September 1st, an Adair Police officer was at the Kum and Go gas station when an employee pointed out the vehicle of a man who had given her a fake $20 bill. The officer then stopped a black Chevrolet vehicle with a Nebraska license plate on the eastbound Interstate 80 ramp. The officer asked the passenger, 37-year-old Reginald Augusta Hallman, to exit the vehicle and after several minutes he was taken into custody. Several items from the gas station were found in his pockets that he did not pay for.

The officer then asked the driver, 27-year-old Allana Jade Wiand, if he could search the vehicle, which she said belonged to the passenger. Two pipes with methamphetamine residue were found, and the driver was placed under arrest. After running the license plates the vehicle was found to be stolen out of Omaha. Hallman and Wiand were both arrested and transported to the Adair County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. Hallman is charged with forgery and second degree theft, both class D felonies; and Wiand is charged with second degree theft.
