Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Adair Sesquicentennial Committee is still trying to get a leg up on fundraising for their celebration in 2022 with an event this Sunday.

The Committee is hosting Music in the Park on September 13th from 5-7 p.m. in the Adair City Park. Families are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair and social distance while enjoying four local musical acts. While the committee has been planning and fundraising for about a year now, volunteer Pat Pettinger says the pandemic has caused a snag in some plans this year, “We had a spaghetti supper we couldn’t have and we’re not sure what exactly we can do in the next few months, and this was just something we thought we could handle and social distance since it could be outside.”

A grilled hamburger and hot dog dinner will also be served for a freewill donation and all donations collected during the event will go toward the sesquicentennial celebration scheduled for June 17th-19th, 2022. In case of rain, the event will be held on September 20th. For more information on the Adair Sesquicentennial, visit here.
