A new aspect for Greene County Relay for Life is happening this week.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, an online auction will raise additional funds for the American Cancer Society. Event Leadership Team Chair Tori Riley tells Raccoon Valley Radio bidding begins tomorrow at 10am and closes Friday at 7pm. Registrations will be through the website 32auctions, and notifications can be sent to individuals if they have been outbid, along with letting the bidders know if they won an auction item.

One of the main auction items is a “Night on the Town” package from Wild Rose Jefferson, which includes $40 to the casino, $40 to Coaches’ Corner restaurant and a one night stay at Cobblestone Inn and Suites. Riley says some of the other auction items are home-baked pies and cookies, a one-day room rental at the Jefferson Community Golf Course, and two items from American Athletic Incorporated/Spaulding.

“AAI has donated a Nastia Lukin signature tumbling pad and also a Nastia Lukin signature foam balance beam for young girls. I think those are just dynamite items.”

Riley notes, winning bidders must pick up their items at the Masonic Lodge in Jefferson from 9-11:30am this Saturday. They will accept checks or cash, but no credit cards. She encourages everyone to get involved.

“Please be generous. Look at it as a way to make a wonderful donation to Relay for Life. And get something that perhaps you would’ve bought anyway in the deal, or maybe that you wouldn’t have bought but you sure would enjoy having.”
