The final design and publication requesting bids for the new law enforcement center addition was approved by the Guthrie County Board of Supervisors at their meeting Tuesday.

The Supervisors expressed that they were happy with an email sent that showed an addendum to widen the windows on the west side of the building, and Ron Hinds of Shive-Hattery Architecture and Engineering said the addendum will be issued to bidders on September 14th. Project Manager Sid Samuels told the Supervisors that his firm has done “everything they possibly can” to get the word out about bidding for the project, including sending bid invitations out to potential contractors and personally calling local contractors. A pre-bid walk through is scheduled at 10 a.m. September 10th to help contractors with determining their bids, and the bid opening is scheduled for September 24th with presentation of bids to the Supervisors the week after.

Hinds also mentioned that he had a second addendum to the design scheduled to be sent on the 23rd, but Samuels advised to wait and see how the first addendum goes as the second one could create conflict with bids submitted. The Supervisors asked questions about the publication of the bid package, which is scheduled to publish in their official newspapers on September 3rd and 10th. The Board approved that plan, and added to publish a notice once in the Stuart and Adair newspapers in effort to better reach that area of the county.
