Greene County residents are encouraged to help out the local food pantry this week.

Greene County Farm Bureau is teaming up with Jefferson Fareway and the Greene County Action Resource Center for the annual Cram the Cab fundraiser. Customers can either round up to the nearest dollar on their grocery bill or purchase a pre-packaged bag of groceries for $5, 10, 15 or 20. The donations will be put inside the Reuter’s Red Power tractor cab that’s located on the Fareway parking lot and then given to the food pantry.

Additionally, other food donations that are needed at this time include canned soup, vegetables and chili beans, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti sauce, hamburger helper, cereal, and peanut butter. The fundraiser is now through September 5th.
