After dismantling the Pella Little Dutch one week ago, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs shocked fans across Iowa, as DC-G stole the throne from Pella as the #1 ranked team in the State of Iowa in Class 3A Football.
DC-G looks to keep that impressive start to the season in tact tonight as DC-G makes the short trip to Alleman for a first ever meeting with the North Polk Comets.
The Mustangs will be heavy favorites heading into tonight’s match-up, as DC-G throttled Pella last week, and North Polk fell to Ballard 27-7. North Polk has now made the switch to a 3A schedule following a switch from the 2A Heart of Iowa Confernce to the 3A Raccoon River Conference.
Other teams topping their respective classes include West Des Moines Dowling Catholic (4A), Prairie City-Monroe (2A), OABCIG Ida Grove (1A), and Don Bosco (8-man).
Scott Heitland, Head Coach of DC-G Football, told Raccoon Valley Radio he was very excited about his team’s opening week performance and believes that if his team can remain healthy and disciplined this fall, 2020 could be a special season for the Mustangs.
DC-G and North Polk will kickoff tonight at 7:00pm in Alleman.
