The City of Perry, Chamber of Commerce, and Economic Development are partnering together to establish a grant program for Perry businesses.
Chamber of Commerce Director Lynsi Pasutti says the collaborative effort is designed to help struggling businesses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These grants will go towards helping companies pivot during this new normal by adding technology or online infrastructure that better fits the current times.
Pasutti adds the grants are more designed to help the future of the business, than to repair from the past, “We’ve seen some businesses be able to continue on by using technology and systems they already had in place from the get-go. Some other businesses were along those lines where they didn’t really have a lot of options to pivot towards updating their offerings or how they operated. With this opportunity, we are hoping we can support businesses by giving them a leg up and some skin in the game and be able to take on some new technology.”
Unlike the recent gift card program, this is not limited only to businesses who are physically located in Perry. Details are not official yet as Pasutti adds they are still finalizing the program.
