Guthrie County’s inductees into the 2020 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame will be honored during a virtual ceremony this Sunday.

Two ceremonies will be streamed, and Michael and Karen Finnegan will be recognized during the 1:30 p.m. event. The Iowa 4-H Foundation sponsors the 4-H Hall of Fame induction ceremony which usually occurs at the state fair. Since 2002 counties have nominated volunteers, community leaders, and Extension staff members who have exemplified outstanding service and dedication to the 4-H program in their county. Mike was an active member on the Guthrie County Youth Committee from 2011 through 2017, and also served for many years on the Silent Auction Committee which helps raise funds for the 4-H program. Karen organized the Clover Kids program in Guthrie County in 2003 and was its leader until 2008. She has also helped with the Wichita Wildcats 4-H Club of which the Finnegans’ two sons were members.
