The Adel City Council approved a preliminary plat for a new residential development during their remote meeting Tuesday.

The Council unanimously approved plat #3 for the Westwood Oaks development that sits three miles south of Hickman Road and Highway 6. The Council also approved the conveying of land that’s been discussed for the better part of the last two years. A public hearing was continued from last week regarding the City conveying land in Kinnick Feller Park. A building was purchased on land that belongs to the City. Over the last couple of years, Adel and Elmwood Real Estate LLC have been in discussion as the owners of the building are trying to purchase the land. The Council approved the resolution conveying the land 4-1 with Jodi Selby voting against the resolution.
