The Jefferson Public Library recently completed its Kids Summer Reading program.

Children’s Librarian Terry Clark says 126 first through fourth graders read a total of 21,430 minutes for the “Imagine YOUR Story” program. Children also participated in several activities including virtual Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) shows, along with interactive readings, puppet shows, a reader’s theater, story walks outside of the library and scavenger hunts.

Max Whitaker was the grand prize winner of a new bicycle and Julius Coyne read the most minutes with 2,210. Ariel Robinson won the drawing for completing the Fairytale Scavenger Hunt.

New this year was an infant through 3-year-old program where a total of 660 books were read to the younger kids.
