A program that is turning former Perry School District properties into residential housing takes a turn towards the upcoming school year.
Since the demolition of the former Perry High/Middle School, the City and School District have had a partnership to subdivide the lot the building stood on. The Bluejay addition not only provides more housing in the City, but it involves students in the building process. The City vacated the land to the District, then students built the house. Peterson says the house that was built over the course of the last year is close to being sold. As they look ahead to the next house, the City officially vacated the lot to the District to begin construction.
