Following a 31-7 season in 2019, and a win shy of the State Tournament in Cedar Rapids, the Dallas Center-Grimes Volleyball team will be returning some of their biggest contributors from the previous season for the 2020 squad.

DC-G fell one win shy of the State Tournament, falling in the 5th and decisive set in the Regional Final at Waverly-Shell Rock last October.

The Fillies lost just three Seniors to graduation, including Katelyn Knudsen, Kamryn O’Brien, and Ashley Ferguson.  Other than that, DC-G returns everyone, and based on that fact alone, the Fillies are positioned for a great 2020 campaign.  The loss of assist leader, Kamryn O’Brien, and the loss of kills leader, Katelyn Knudsen is significant, but a strong and experienced core is returning which should breed success for Cheryl Voelker’s 2020 squad.

Some players to keep an eye on for DC-G Volleyball this season include Seniors, Haylee Hidlebaugh, Grace Mikota, and Lexi Protzman offensively, along with Isabel Wood on defense.

DC-G opens with a Triangular at home in Grimes versus Southeast Polk and Urbandale on Tuesday night.
