Friday, August 7th
2:15am: An officer located an Unsecured Door at 1200 North Elm Street. A key holder was contacted to secure the business.
4:39am: Dave Morlan called in an Erratic Driver on 220th Street, heading west into Jefferson on 220th Street. The officer located the reported vehicle and performed a Traffic Stop with the vehicle. The officer determined the driver was tired and showed no signs of impairment.
6:24am: An officer assisted the Jefferson Fire Department with a Fire Alarm at 1805 North Elm Street. An electrical issue was located causing smoke in the building. No fire was located.
10:51am: Austin O’Connell requested officers at 307 West Lincoln Way Street for a Domestic Argument between his girlfriend and him. The officers diffused the issue and the male left to cool off.
11:30am: Officers performed a Funeral Escort.
2:19pm: Malissa Brooks reported the Theft of purses from 205 North Locust. The officer is investigating.
7:23pm: Beverly Rosenow reported a stalled vehicle on the overpass bridge. The vehicle was gone when the officer arrived in the area.
6:22pm: Thomas Oyres requested officers at 1216 Westwood Drive for two males threatening him. The males had left the area as Oyres called police. The officer is investigating.
7:15pm: A juvenile female reported a heavy-set male following her in a white truck as she walked in the 400 Block of West Madison Street. The officer is investigating the reported event.
7:15pm: Denise Silva reported a Suspicious Female at 505 North Grimmell Street. The officer located the female a short distance away and spoke with her. She advised she was looking for a friend who lives at the address.
8:27pm: Angela Murphy reported a female stole a blanket from her yard at 507 West Madison Street. The female had asked permission to swim in Murphy’s pool. When permission was denied, she took the blanket and walked away. The officer located the female a short distance away, with the blanket in her possession. The officer arrested Brianne Kara Wolf, 29 of Jefferson for, “Theft 5th Degree.”
10:26pm: Mariah Bartley reported a truck parked and blocking the alley in the 300 Block of North Wilson Ave. The vehicle had left before the officer’s arrival in the area.
10:30pm: Brian Mobley reported three subjects with flashlights attempting to beak into the rear door of a vacant residence at 608 West Lincoln Way Street. The three fled as Mobley yelled at them. Extra night patrol will be given to the area.
Saturday, August 8th
6:54am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 300 American Ave. Before the officer arrived, the business reported it was a false alarm.
8:08am: A deputy and officer arrested Juan Angel Guzman, 33 of Jefferson at 1216 Westwood Drive on an Outstanding Greene County Arrest Warrant for, “Violation of Terms of Release.”
8:47am: A caller advised of a bicycle that had been dumped in the 300 Block of North Locust Street. The officer placed the bike in the Impound Lot.
9:12am: Jen Ashby reported neighbor children shooting BB guns again at 100 East Central Ave. The officer spoke to a parent and advised this was against city ordinances. The parent explained she thought it was okay to shoot them in the city if a parent was supervising. She advised now that she knows, the issue will not occur again.
12:30pm: Kristina Greene called and advised officers that her adult son had just left her residence with a baseball bat and was going to 204 North Maple, where he had issues with another male. The officer responded and was met by the other male, who reported the window of his mother’s vehicle had just been broken out by Kyle Rysavy. A female provided the officer with information that she had witnessed Rysavy breaking out the vehicle window. The owner of the vehicle did not support criminal charges against Rysavy; therefore no action was taken by the officer.
1:39pm: Dave Morlan reported a young female with a backpack lying in a yard near Harrison and Pinet Streets. The officer suspected the female was Brianne Wolf, who is homeless. The officer contacted local clergy and the Homeless Coalition of Greene County and provided them information on the female.
3:10pm: An officer investigated a Hit & Run Accident at State and Cedar Streets. A 2017 Lincoln MKZ, owned by Janice Napolitano of Jefferson had been parked in the area. Napolitano noticed
damage to the vehicle when she returned to it. The front driver’s side had suffered a reported
$1500.00 in damages from an unknown vehicle.
8:34pm: Skylar Johnson reported a group of people being extremely loud in the 100 Block of North Cedar Street. When the officer called Johnson to get more information, he advised the subjects had apologized and ended the noise. No action taken by the officer.
9:52pm: A caller advised of Loud Music coming from an event at the fairgrounds. The officer went to the area and determined the noise was not excessive in nature.
10:32pm: A caller advised of Loud Music coming from 104 North Cedar Street. The officer spoke to the residents and they turned down the music.
Sunday, August 9th
1:10am: An officer removed a bat from the residence at 303 North Chestnut Street.
11:01am: Jade Milledge requested officers at 306 West Reed Street to remove an unwanted male. As the officer arrived, the male was leaving the residence and no action was required by the officer.
11:07am: A deputy requested assistance from Jefferson officers in locating a reported vehicle from Carroll County. The report stated two males had approached a female driver in Carroll and tried to get her to come to a motel with them. She left Carroll and the males followed closely behind her and were flashing their headlights as they travelled east into Greene County. The officer spotted the reported van on 220th Street, near Grimmell Road and performed a Traffic Stop with the van. The male occupants advised they had just left Carroll, but denied they were involved in speaking to the female. The officer identified the two and let them go on their way. The female called and advised she was at 606 Hwy. 30 East and the officer went to the location and spoke to her. All information was passed back to Carroll PD since the event occurred there.
11:46am: The GCMC ER requested an officer for a Dog Bite. The officer learned a young female was staying with her father at 206 East Perry Street. She had hit her sister in the arm and their dog had nipped her in the face. The child suffered a superficial laceration to her face from the bite. The animal’s owner provided the officer with a current vaccination record and advised the animal was immediately leaving the city. The animal will be privately quarantined outside of Jefferson, per state law when a human bite occurs.
4:54pm: An anonymous caller advised of a dog defecating in all neighboring yards in the 200 Block of South Cedar Street. The officer did not locate a dog running in the area and had no caller information to follow up with the complainant.
7:32pm: Susan Thiel reported the Theft of power tools from a garage under construction at 103 East Park Street. The subject reported $650.00 in power tools missing from the garage. The officer is investigating.
Monday, August 10th
12:14 am: Thomas Oyres reported someone tapping on his windows at 1216 Westwood Drive #9. The officer responded and did not locate anyone in the area.
12:16am: Jacob Thomas reported a glass object had fallen off a vehicle and broke in the street near Washington and Elm Streets. The officer removed the broken glass from the roadway.
9:55am: Officers responded to storm siren activation as the storm passed through Jefferson. Officers cleared manageable pieces of brush from roadways, responded to numerous downed cable and powerlines Throughout the city. Officer were dispatched to numerous locations in the city responding to alarm activations. A list of downed lines were gathered to be passed on to Alliant Energy. Numerous intersections and streets were closed by officers for downed lines and downed trees. The Public Works Employees began to remove large trees and branches from city streets with chain saws and equipment immediately after the storm passed. Severe property damage was reported from numerous business in town.
1:01pm: Amy Walker requested an officer at 106 East Central Ave. as a neighbor was outside yelling profanities at her and her children. The officer spoke to the neighbor and advised her end the behavior or face criminal charges.
7:03pm: Lois Curtis requested an officer at 1000 West Adams #2 for a beeping sound in her apartment. The officer located the source of the sound as the battery backup for her Internet. He advised her to contact her carrier in the morning to fix the issue.
7:34pm: An officer assisted the Jefferson Fire Department at Washington Park. Powerlines had fallen onto the shelter house and were smoking. Alliant Energy was notified.
7:36pm: Officers assisted the Jefferson Fire Department with a small brush fire at 207 South Chestnut Street. Downed powerlines had ignited downed brush after the lines were reenergized. Alliant Energy was notified.
7:48pm: Officers responded to an Alarm Activation at 700 South Grimmell Road. All was fine at the residence. The alarm activated when the electricity was turned back on.
7:46pm: An officer responded to downed lines arching on a tree in the 400 Block of South Locust Street. Alliant was notified.
8:07pm: Officers worked to diffuse a Civil Property Dispute between two occupants at 709 Pinet Place. One party gave up her key and left the residence voluntarily.
8:17pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and 220 th Street resulted in Kevin Evans of Humboldt being cited for, “Failure to Have a Valid License.”
******** Officers issued (3) Parking Violation Notices on the square for, “Street Sweeping Parking Violation” during this reporting period.
