After a gradual build up to full contact, today is the first day of full pads for Iowa high school football teams, including the Greene County Rams. Head coach Caden Duncan was pleased with the football camp held last week, and even official practices earlier this week with helmets and shoulder pads, but he and the rest of the coaching staff will get a better idea of what they have with full contact starting today.

“The guys have really been competing hard all summer long, whether it’s been training on their own when we couldn’t meet as a team due to COVID-19, or when our team workouts began in July. That carried over into our football camp last week, and we’ve seen a lot of good things this week when official practice started,” said the coach. He added the players recognized there are a number of positions open after heavy graduation losses from the 2019 team that went 9-2, was top 10 rated, and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the playoffs.
