Iowa crops continue to decline as drought conditions continue to get worse.
According to the United States Department of Agriculture, corn condition was rated at 73% good to excellent, down 4% compared to last week. Soybean blooming reached 91%, two weeks ahead of last year’s pace, blooming pods reached 10%, also two weeks ahead of last year, and overall condition was rated at 73% good to excellent, down 6% compared to last week. Corn silking and beyond reached 95% completed, which is two weeks ahead of where it was last year, and five days ahead of the five-year average.
