Greene County head volleyball coach Chris Heisterkamp starts her third season at the helm with a mix of veterans and newcomers. Six players return as letter winners for the Rams, who went 12-20 in 2019.

Volleyball camp was held this week with official practice starting on Monday. The coaching staff and players will be attempting to finish the season with more wins than losses for the first time since the 2011-12 school year, when the school was Jefferson-Scranton.

Greene County will start the season playing in what is now the middle school. It’s the former high school and the gym has been refitted to allow spectator seating, something that had not been available until now.

The Heart of Iowa Activities Conference will have seven teams in it this season. Gilbert and North Polk (Alleman) left the league and are now members of the Raccoon River Conference. West Marshall (State Center) returns to the HOIAC, after leaving more than a decade ago for the North Iowa Cedar League.
