The Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library has recently added a new free entertainment outlet for patrons to enjoy, thanks in part to the Guthrie County Community Foundation.

The Guthrie Center-based library received a Foundation grant of $3,000 earlier this spring which covered half of the cost of an interactive electronic gaming table, and the remaining funds were donated by the Marion McQuaid family. Library Director Pat Sleister says the McQuaid family have been longtime supporters of the library, and she’s grateful for theirs and the Foundation’s help in purchasing the amenity, “It’s just an awesome little table that four people can play at one time and it has games already downloaded on it and you can pick your game. It’s for all ages actually but mostly for children.”

For social distancing only one person is allowed to play at the table at a time. Patrons are also reminded that the library is currently open from 2-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m.- noon Friday. More information on their COVID-19 restrictions can be found by clicking here.
