Friday, July 24th

1:35am: A Traffic Stop at Lincoln Way and Cedar Streets resulted in Heather Kissell of Des Moines being cited for, “Driving While Suspended.”

4:16am: Officers were called to the GCMC ER at 1000 West Lincoln Way Street for a Fight in Progress in the parking lot. An intoxicated male patient had walked away from ER with an IV in his arm. He had fought with subjects in the parking lot who were there on his behalf. A male subject who was the driver of vehicle was given Field Sobriety Testing, and subsequently passed the testing. A Consent Search was conducted of the vehicle and the officer located a smoking device. It was seized for lab testing. James Matthews of Ogden was cited for, “Open Container – Passenger” and released. Future charges are pending lab results on the smoking device. Officers later located the subject that walked away from ER on the square. The male subject was taken back to ER for medical treatment. The male began to resist the staff and officers at ER and struck the officer in the chest with his fist. Arrest Warrants will be requested for Michael Marlin Matthews, 24 of Grand Junction for, “Public Intoxication – Simple” and “Assault on Peace Officer – Serious.”

4:59am: Lona Mitchell reported her 17-year-old daughter had received a nude photo on Snap Chat from a 24-year-old male. The officer learned it occurred in Grand Junction and the case was forwarded to the Sheriff’s Office.

10:02am: Stephanie Hall reported receiving a Scam Phone Call. A male advised her of Civil Paperwork he had for her. She ended the call and no information was given to the caller.

12:27pm: Dispatch received a 911 Hang Up Call from the area of the Jefferson Airport. The officer did not locate anyone in the area requiring assistance.

2:32pm: The sheriff requested an officer to assist with Court House Security during a trial at 114 North Chestnut Street.

3:28pm: A caller advised of subjects crawling under the gate at the Impound Lot, located at Perry and Locust Streets. This was in connection to a vehicle impounded by the sheriff’s office and the information was forwarded to them.

8:07pm: Brittany Smith reported a Burglary had occurred sometime in the last three weeks at 304 North Chestnut Street. Several items were reported as Stolen. The officer is investigating.

Saturday, July 25th

12:12am: Letitia Sutton reported receiving numerous unwanted comments on her 3 Social Media accounts.

1:10am: Vicki Williams reported an intoxicated female outside of 904 West Lincoln Way screaming loudly. The officer arrived and learned a male neighbor had heard the screaming and went over to see if he could assist the screaming female. The female assaulted the neighbor before officers arrived. Shanna Lee Herrera, 40 of Carroll was arrested and charged with, “Disorderly Conduct – Fighting and Assault – Simple.”

10:00am: An officer was advised of motion activated lights going off overnight at 803 South Chestnut Street. A short time later a vehicle drove by slowly. No attempts to enter the residence had been located by the officer. The officer is investigating the event.

6:38pm: Jenn Ashby requested officers at 108 East Central Ave. lot 66. She reported her husband had locked her out of the residence and was destroying property inside the residence. The officer arrived and was told they had made up and no assistance was needed.

8:53pm: A caller advised of a bon fire occurring at 105 North Walnut Street. The officer located the fire, which was controlled in a fire ring. This is not a violation of the current Burn Ban. 9:10pm: Matt Sutherland reported a vehicle running with its lights on at 704 Rushview Drive for several hours. The officer knocked on the residence door and made contact with the vehicle’s owner, who advised he had fallen asleep and forgot it was running.

9:39pm: Amelia Kennedy reported a Suspicious Vehicle parked in her backyard at 300 East State Street. The vehicle was pulled onto her neighbor’s private property before the arrival of the officer.

10:28pm: Delaney Gustoff reported a fire in the 500 Block of North Olive Street. The officer located subjects burning without a fire ring at 409 North Olive Street and requested them to extinguish the fire.

Sunday, July 26th

1:11am: The Super 8 Motel requested an officer at 207 West Gallop Road for Suspicious Activity in the parking lot. The officer watched video of an exchange between subjects and did not believe it was suspicious.

4:09am: An officer responded to a Burglary Alarm at 1700 North Elm Street. A dog inside the business was responsible for setting off the alarm and all was fine inside.

8:47am: Catherine Wilson reported the glass broken out of the door at 500 East Lincoln Way Street. The officer located a broken beer bottle lying with the glass from the door. The owner of the building was contacted and advised. The officer located no evidence of entry into the building.

1:51pm: Casey’s requested an officer at 508 North Elm Street to take possession of suspected narcotics and related items which had been located in the business. Video Surveillance will be reviewed by Casey’s to determine who placed the items in the business.

5:53pm: A caller advised they had witnessed a vehicle back into another parked vehicle at 106 West Washington Street. The officer located both vehicles involved and spoke to owners. Both advised neither vehicle had any damage.

7:41pm: Amy Baugh spoke to an officer in connection to a Civil Property Dispute. The officer learned it was occurring in Scranton and sent her the sheriff’s office with the complaint.

10:13pm: Casey’s reported a male had attempted to use a personal check for $90.00 to purchase items at the business. The clerk knew the subject on the check was deceased a month ago. She advised the subject of this knowledge and they left without purchasing the items. The officer is investigating.
