The Iowa Economic Development Authority has created a new program to help small businesses with their utility payments during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Small Business Utility Disruption Prevention Program has $14.5 million to give to small businesses for short-term relief on their utility payments. An eligible business must have 50 or fewer employees and have a physical location in Iowa, experienced a loss of revenue on or after March 17th that resulted in unpaid electric or natural gas expenses between March 17th and June 30th, and remained open when submitting their application. Businesses who received Small Business Relief grants from the IEDA are ineligible.
A business may apply for up to $7,500 and applications will be accepted until August 21st, or whenever the allocated funds from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act runs out. Click the link below to apply for this grant.
