The Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers found out their seed and opponent yesterday for the state tournament in Des Moines. They will be facing the Tigers of Gilbert, who come in with a 21-3 record and the number three seed in the tournament. ADM is seeded 6th, and comes in with a 12-7 record.
Gilbert was dominate in their substate rounds, outscoring their three opponents by the score of 29-0. ADM was able to show similar success, outscoring teams by the score of 25-3.
For both of these teams, offense has been very good with Gilbert putting up 6.6 runs per game while ADM also puts up 5.8. Gilbert really makes their marks in the pitching department, where they are giving up a team ERA of 2.30 on the season.
The other matchups in the state tournament for class 3A will be Sargent Bluff – Luton vs Marion, Norwalk vs Clear Creek – Amana, and Dallas Center – Grimes vs Benton Community. The winner of the ADM-Gilbert matchup would take on the winner of DCG vs Benton on Friday afternoon.
First pitch of this game will be at 7:30 on Tuesday Night in Des Moines.
