The Stuart City Council approved several items regarding their latest housing project and sewer system projects at their recent meeting.

They approved several items pertaining to the All Saints Addition: the eighth pay estimate of about $173,232 to Concrete Technologies, Inc., $4,290 in electrical engineering fees to DGR Engineering, about $36,209 for a street lighting quote from Rural Electric Supply Cooperative, and the adoption of an ordinance to change the zoning of the land from agricultural to residential single family upon first reading and after a waiver of the second and third readings. The Council then approved a site plan presented by Karl Chevrolet to build an auction building on the northside of Southwest 8th Street, and approved the final pay estimate of $83,486 to McCarthy Trenching LLC. for the Southwest 3rd Street storm sewer extension and a certificate of completion.

They also approved the proposed project schedule for sanitary sewer system improvements, which includes receiving and opening bids on August 5th, and a public hearing and award of contract on August 10th. All work that will be located along various streets in the northern part of the City is estimated to be completed by May 28th, 2021. The estimated base bid from City Engineer Forrest Aldrich is $250,000.
