The former Shopko building along Highway 141 in Perry has found a new tennant.

Harland Ace Hardware announced Wednesday that they will be moving their business into the building that has been vacant since Shopko went out of business in June of 2019. The hardware store is a three-generation family business that was originally located in the first floor of Hotel Pattee before moving to their current location on South First Avenue in 1986. There will be several months of remodeling before they can open for business in the new location. The goal is to be able to be completed and ready to open by November 1st. After Ace Hardware moves in, there are plans for Dollar Tree to move into their current location. Although that move isn’t expected to occur until next year.
