Thursday, July 9th

10:31am: Ashlam Munch requested a Welfare Check on her daughter, who was with her father in Jefferson. The officer made contact with the child, who was fine.

11:15am: Amy Baugh reported her son’s apartment had been burglarized at 301 ½ East Lincoln Way Street. The officer advised Baugh to have her son file the complaint, since he is on the lease. The officer is awaiting the son’s complaint.

2:00pm: Carroll County advised of a Careless Driver on 220th Street near Jefferson. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.

5:22pm: A caller advised of a possible Intoxicated Driver on East Lincoln Way Street. The officers did not locate the vehicle.

6:47pm: A caller advised of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound towards Jefferson. The officer located the parked vehicle at the casino.

7:12pm: Taylor McCormick advised he was on his way to ER with his daughter who had broke her leg. He advised he was driving above the speed limit. The officer advised him to slow down and safely get her to ER.

9:18pm: April Hopkins reported an argument had occurred between her and her boyfriend. He left in a vehicle and had been consuming alcohol. The officer made contact with the boyfriend at the Wild Rose Casino and had him arrange a ride from the business.

11:52pm: Officers assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 200 Block of South Georgia Street.

Friday, July 10th

12:05pm: Dollar General requested an officer at 104 North Locust Street for an Unruly Customer who refused to leave the business when asked to do so. The officer arrived and spoke to the female, who left on her own after speaking with a Store Manager. The customer was advised she was no longer welcome in the business.

2:34pm: Amy Vandermeer reported a Stray Dog in the 300 Block of North Locust Street. The officer did not locate the reported animal.

4:29pm: A deputy advised an officer of a jet ski that was abandoned on a sand bar near the Eureka Bridge on South Grimmell Road. The officer arrived and located subjects removing the jet ski from the river onto a trailer.

6:56pm: An officer investigated a Backing Accident at 101 Ram Drive. A 2017 Ford Fusion, owned and operated by Danielle Ohm of Newton backed into a parked vehicle. The 2019 Dodge Durango was owned by Dorothy Thorpe of Jefferson. Each vehicle suffered very minor damages. The officer assisted with an Information Exchange.

9:25pm: Les Pierce reported a Suspicious Vehicle in the 700 Block of North Cedar Street. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.

10:05pm: Mike Monagin reported someone tapping on his windows at 405 South Walnut Street. The officers did not locate anyone in the area.

11:34pm: Ken Wheeler reported three juveniles going through vehicles parked at 708 North Wilson Ave. before leaving the area on bicycles. The officers did not locate anyone in the area.

Saturday, July 11th

12:02am: Officers located a vehicle with an Open Door in the 300 Block of North Locust Street. They made contact with the vehicle’s owner, who advised nothing was missing from the vehicle.

2:07am: An officer located an Open Business Door at 1200 North Elm Street. The business owner was contacted to secure the business.

2:42am: An officer located two juveniles on bikes in the 100 Block of West State Street. He spoke to the juveniles about being out past curfew and sent them home.

 2:47am: Officers located an Open Business Door at 104 East State Street. The owner was contacted to secure the business.

3:18am: Officers secured two vehicles after finding them unlocked at 1505 North Elm Street (New Way Auto). A Door Tag was left for the business owner advising of the action taken by officers.

4:22am: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 500 Block of North Chestnut Street for, “Truck/RV/Trailer Parking.”

4:53am: Officers checked the area of the 400 Block of Edgewood after dispatch received an accidental 911 Call from the area.

9:43am: Vicki Dillavou requested a Welfare Check on a possible Suicidal Male in the 400 Block of North Pinet Street. The officer made contact with the subject and ended up taking him to ER to be evaluated by a medical doctor.

5:58pm: An officer removed a bat from the residence at 404 South Pinet Street.

11:04pm: Brian Mobley reported three teenagers setting off fireworks in the 600 Block of West State Street. The officers did not locate the subjects.

Sunday, July 12th

1:13am: An officer located an Open Door at 406 North Elm (Walker Auto) and secured the vehicle.

7:32pm: Officers and a deputy located and captured a goat that had gotten loose from the Jefferson Vet Clinic a few days earlier. The vet took possession of the animal from the officers.

11:25pm: Joyce Behrens reported the Theft of Prescription Medications from her residence in Glidden. She was directed by the officer to report it in Carroll county, since it occurred there.

******** An officer requested Arrest Warrants for Ryan Douglas Patterson, 39 of Jefferson after ending an investigation which began on 06/29/2020. The complaint alleged that Patterson had struck a subject on a bicycle, knocking him off of the bike. Patterson left his vehicle and physically assaulted the subject. The warrants are for, “Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident – Serious, Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon – Aggravated, Reckless Driving – Simple, Fail to Yield to Pedestrian within Intersection – Simple, and Stopping on Paved Portion of Highway.” Witnesses saw the event occur at North Elm and Stanford Streets and called police. The officers located the victim in the area a short time later, and he signed the complaint. The subject had minor bodily injuries from the event.
