The West Central Wildcat softball team has had a lot of close calls over the season, but have lost some heart breakers in super close games. The Wildcats had a huge opening night victory over Panorama, putting up 20 runs in a runaway victory. Since then, they haven’t recorded a victory but have had a lot of very close misses. They’ve lost by one to Seymour, one to Madrid, two to Melcher-Dallas, and tied Des Moines Christian in a doubleheader as well.

These type of experiences should be good for the Wildcats, as though they didn’t win those games they know what pressure situations are like, and it should help them gear up for district softball on Monday. Their opponent as well will be Madrid, and it is expected to be a close game once again.

The Wildcats will play Nodaway Valley tomorrow, CAM on Friday, get some work in over the weekend and will be ready to go when those district games start on Monday.
