The long awaited return of the Perry Farmers Market is tomorrow, and the Perry Chamber of Commerce is excited to get the popular summer activity up and running.

Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti notes that the market typically starts the last week of May, but they pushed it back due to ongoing concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic. She also points out that the start date isn’t the only aspect of the market that the virus has altered. “Things will look a little bit different, just to kind of take precautions and to keep public safety at the forefront of everything that we’re doing. So we’ll be on 2nd Street between Willis Avenue and Warford, not utilizing Josh Davis Plaza from the start but eventually maybe we’ll be able to expand in the future. So we’ll just have to kind of see how things go, keep and eye out on things, and provide a safe space for the farmers market.”

Pasutti adds, they’re requiring all vendors to wear face masks and are advising the public to do so as well. The markets will run through the last week of September, held from 4-7 p.m. each Thursday.
