After a tilt in Dallas Center last night with Little Hawkeye Conference foe, Indianola, Dallas Center-Grimes is back on its own diamond tonight in a doubleheader with Pella Christian. In Thursday’s contest, DC-G came out on top 5-1 over the Indians.
The Mustangs are finishing up a stretch of 5 games in just four days. Earlier in the week, DC-G Head Coach Byron Peyton mentioned the stress of a such a demanding schedule can be troublesome for a pitching staff.
Fortunately, the Mustangs haven’t yet been dealt a hand of challenging weather that forces a reschedule or cancellation. In a season where the schedule is far more hectic than normal, making up postponed contests is proving to be a daunting task. Just earlier this week, cross-county rival, ADM wasn’t able to play their home game with Carroll on Monday due to multiple inches of rain earlier in the day and the field conditions.
Tonight’s DC-G Varsity Doubleheader with Pella Christian will begin at 5:30pm in Dallas Center.
