After a heavyweight pitchers dual Monday, the AC/GC baseball team was due for a shootout.
The Chargers hit the road last night with the tall task of rebounding after a heartbreaking extra inning loss to Ogden Monday night when they took the field against Exira-EHK Tuesday evening. AC/GC took a stronghold early plating three runs in the first, and another four in the third to take a 7-1 lead into the bottom of the frame. The wheels started to fall off for the Chargers as they gave up seven runs over the course of the next three innings.
AC/GC tied it up in the sixth before blowing the game open with a seven run inning in the seventh to take control 15-8. Things got a bit shaky as the Spartants were able to plate two runs, but AC/GC kept it at that to hit the bus with a 15-10 victory.
AC/GC improves to 2-4 on the year and will be back in action Thursday as they will try to give Van Meter their first loss of the season.
