The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday night in regular session.
During open forum, Jefferson Area Chamber of Commerce Board member Pete Bardole and Hot August Night Coordinator Chuck Wenthold asked the Council for support of the annual event. They told the Council the vehicle showcase event will take place on August 13th with plans to further spread out the vehicles to better adhere to social distancing against COVID-19. The Council gave their support.
Next, the Council approved a $1,000 contract with Region XII Council of Governments for professional services for the Upper Story Housing Conversion application. Additionally, the Council set July 14th at 5:30pm two public hearings, including the grant application for the Community Development Block Grant for Upper Story Housing Conversion project and a zoning amendment for upper story apartments. The Council also approved a plat of survey to split up a lot at 702 West Lincoln Way to two neighboring property owners and another plat of survey for Larry and Brinda Brown to take ownership of a neighboring lot.
The Council approved City Administrator Mike Palmer’s annual contract with a 3.5-percent salary increase to $104,481. Finally, the Council heard a yearly update with Thomas Jefferson Gardens.
