A second person that was involved with a high-speed chase in Guthrie County on April 30th now faces felony charges.

Court documents show that the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office took 33-year-old Sean Ryan Wharton into custody from the Polk County Jail Wednesday on an arrest warrant. Wharton is charged with conspiring to manufacture, deliver, or possess with intent to deliver more than five grams of methamphetamine, a class B felony; felon in possession of a weapon, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, and third degree burglary, all class D felonies; and possession of burglar tools, an aggravated misdemeanor.

Wharton was allegedly involved in two attempted burglaries in Audubon County, and was one of two passengers who were arrested on outstanding warrants from Polk County after the vehicle driven by 34-year-old James Raymond Baenisch of Des Moines was pursued by law enforcement through Guthrie and Dallas counties and was eventually stopped north of Redfield. Wharton is being held on a $25,000 bond at the Guthrie County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
