The Adair County Fair Board has released new details on how they will be conducting this year’s event amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The fair will take place Thursday, July 16th through Sunday July 19th at the fairgrounds in Greenfield. Grandstand events will occur Friday through Sunday night. Food vendors and camping will be allowed on the fairgrounds, though open class and vendors will not be allowed in the Varied Industries Buildings. The 4-H/FFA Center will not be open to the public. The Board states that in coordination with Adair County ISU Extension the primary focus will be on their youth, providing a safe and healthy experience for them to showcase their projects in a “show and go” format. Extension will be sharing additional details on those events soon.

Plans are also in place to increase sanitation at their fair, including increasing hand sanitizer stations throughout the grounds. The Board also plans to disinfect main seating areas including the show ring, grandstand and bleachers daily. They will also provide signage reminding people to social distance and use good hygiene practices. High risk, vulnerable individuals and anyone not feeling well are encouraged to stay home. The Board and Extension thanks their local communities, sponsors, volunteers, families, and other partners for continuing to support the fair as they navigate through this challenging time.
