Thursday, June 18th
4:14am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 600 Block of South Cedar Street.
6:06am: Public Works reported Criminal Mischief to the roof of a Shelter house at Chautauqua Park. Shingles had been torn off the roof. Damage estimate is $50.00 to repair.
8:00am: An officer spoke with the owner of a camper, which was parked in the street in the 600 Block of South Cedar Street. He explained city ordinances concerning the camper to the visiting owner. The camper was removed from the street.
9:07am: An officer checked on a resident in the 200 Block of North Walnut Street after dispatch received a 911 Call from the resident. The resident was fine and had accidentally dialed 911. No assistance was needed.
11:10am: Josefina Stevens spoke to an officer about three subjects staying in her apartment building at 307 North Olive Street. The three were not renters and paying no rent to live there. They had stayed behind after the renter had given notice and moved away from the apartment. The three advised they would be out by the day’s end.
12:05pm: An officer located a semi and trailer parked with its hazard lights activated in the 300 Block of North Elm Street. The officer learned the driver parked there to get food from a vending truck in the area. He was instructed to move the semi and not park in the street in the future.
3:46pm: Tony Sparks reported an Unsafe Driver on 220th Street, heading west towards Jefferson. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.
5:52pm: Kathy Kempffer reported a Stray Dog in the 300 Block of East State Street. The owner had arrived and retrieved the animal before the officer arrived in the area.
8:46pm: An officer was made aware of a tree that had fallen into the roadway near Russell and Maple Streets. The officer made the Public Works Department aware of the issue.
******** Juvenile Charges have been filed on two Jefferson male juveniles for, “Criminal Mischief 5th Degree – Simple.” The ages are 10 and 11 years old. The charges come from a report of kids spray painting graffiti underneath the overpass bridge. The officer arrived and caught the two in the act.
Note: All charges are merely an accusation. All defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
