At the top of the list of ERA leaders in the state, an AC/GC eighth grader sits at the top.
Andrew Mahaffey made his varsity debut Tuesday night against Madrid. He threw 2 2/3rd inning and was able to tame a powerfully potent tiger lineup. When he entered the contest, the Chargers had given up 11 runs and were in danger as Madrid was cooking up another big inning. Mahaffey was able to secure the final out of the second without giving up any earned runs of his own. He would go on to pitch an easy third inning giving up only one baserunner and no runs, the first inning Madrid failed to score. Entering Thursday’s game against Pleasantville, his 0.00 is at the top of the leaders in the state.
