The Gilbert Tigers pounded out 19 hits in Tuesday night’s 12-7 victory over Perry. Gilbert jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead in the top of the first inning only to see Perry counter with a six spot of their own. Kennedy Tunick delivered a two-run double to ignite the Jayette rally. Unfortunately, the offense slowed from there despite missing on several scoring opportunities throughout the night. The Tigers were led by the duo of Bella Nelson and Lauren Nissen. Nelson finished with four hits and 3 RBI’s including 3 doubles and an opposite field homerun off Perry starter Jayna Kenney. Nissen not only entered the game in the 2nd inning out of the bulllpen but finished with a sparkling 5-5 line at the dish. She tossed one run ball over her 6 innings of work.
Kenney took the loss inside the circle allowing 19 hits and 4 walks over 7 innings while striking out 5. Perry finished 9 hits offensively with both Tunick and Macy Kilmer combining for two hits apiece.
Perry will host ADM tonight at 7:00 at the PAC. You can listen to the game on KDLS.
