In the first night of the 2020 Baseball and Softball season, Dallas Center-Grimes found themselves on the right side of a Little Hawkeye Conference tilt at Norwalk.

DC-G Baseball picked up a convincing 7-0 win, as the Mustangs rallied behind a big first inning of offense.  After the first frame, DC-G lead 4-0.  The Mustangs added runs in the second, sixth, and seventh innings to solidify the win for Byron Peyton’s team.  Senior, Logan Smith picked up the win on the mound.

The Fillies Softball team also notched a big win against Norwalk on Monday.  DC-G Softball received great pitching, and enough offense to hold off the Warriors.  The game was scoreless after the first two innings, before DC-G notched across runs in the third, fourth, and fifth innings, before a big 3 run seventh inning to put the final nail in the coffin for Norwalk.

Steve Schlafke’s Fillies and Byron Peyton’s Mustangs will be back on the diamond with a doubleheader at Newton tomorrow night.
