The new high school and career academy project for the Greene County School District continues to move along.

Superintendent Tim Christensen says the career academy is nearing completion with classrooms and lab spaces being painted. The flooring and cabinets will be installed next month. As for the academic wing, classrooms have been painted, cabinets and carpet are currently being installed and ceiling tiles are being hung. The restrooms have been tiled and fixtures are set.

Progress continues to be made on the gymnasium portion. Christensen says the divider curtain as well as the donated basketball hoops from American Athletic Incorporated have been installed and the ductwork for the heating and cooling system is currently being installed. The concrete floors in the commons area and auditorium have been poured. Other items being installed in the auditorium include conduits for electrical, lights and sound.

Christensen adds the career academy, academic wing, band/vocal areas, and the commons area will be ready to open by August 1st. The gym is slated to open August 15th and the auditorium will open October 1st. Photos of the project can be viewed below. All photos are courtesy of GCSD.
